Whether you're shopping for yourself or looking for the perfect gift for a gamer in your life, digital gift cards are the go-to choice in 2026. No shipping delays, instant delivery, and the recipient gets to pick exactly what they want. Here are the top gaming gift cards available in South Africa this year, ranked by popularity and value.
1. PlayStation Store Gift Cards
Best for: PS5 and PS4 owners
PlayStation Store gift cards are consistently our best-selling product, and for good reason. They add funds directly to your PlayStation wallet, which you can spend on games, DLC, subscriptions, and in-game currency.
In 2026, PlayStation continues to dominate the console market in South Africa. With PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers, a gift card can fund months of access to hundreds of games. The PS5's exclusive lineup — including titles like God of War, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us — remains one of the strongest in gaming.
PlayStation gift cards from Evopoints come in multiple USD denominations. When you redeem them, the PS Store converts the balance to your local currency automatically.
2. Steam Wallet Codes
Best for: PC gamers
With over 30,000 games and legendary seasonal sales, Steam is the home of PC gaming worldwide. Steam Wallet codes add funds directly to your Steam account, giving you access to one of the largest digital game libraries in existence.
For South African gamers, Steam Wallet codes solve the common problem of not having an international credit card. Buy a code in ZAR from Evopoints, redeem it on Steam, and the funds convert to Rands automatically. Our Steam redemption guide walks you through the process step by step.
Steam also hosts a massive community marketplace where you can buy and sell in-game items for games like CS2, Dota 2, and Team Fortress 2 — all using your wallet balance.
3. Xbox Gift Cards
Best for: Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC Game Pass users
Xbox gift cards offer the most versatile value in gaming. Unlike PlayStation cards, Xbox gift cards work across both console and PC. Add funds to your Microsoft account and spend them on Xbox console games, PC games from the Microsoft Store, or — most importantly — Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate remains one of the best deals in gaming: for a monthly subscription, you get access to hundreds of games on console, PC, and cloud, plus EA Play and day-one access to all Xbox first-party titles. A gift card is the perfect way to fund it.

4. Nintendo eShop Cards
Best for: Nintendo Switch owners
The Nintendo Switch continues to be a favourite for family-friendly gaming in South Africa. eShop cards are essential for South African Switch owners, as they're often the only way to buy digital games without an international credit card linked to your Nintendo account.
The eShop library includes beloved franchises like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing, plus a growing catalogue of indie games. Nintendo's first-party titles rarely go on sale, making gift cards a great way to spread the cost of new releases.
5. Roblox Gift Cards
Best for: Kids and teens who play Roblox
Roblox is the most popular gaming platform for younger players, with millions of user-created games and experiences. Roblox gift cards give players Robux — the in-game currency used to buy accessories, avatar items, game passes, and premium features.
For parents, Roblox gift cards are a safer alternative to linking a credit card to a child's account. You control the spending amount, and the child gets to choose how to use their Robux. It's also one of the most requested birthday and holiday gifts for kids aged 7–15.
6. Honourable Mentions
Beyond the top 5, these gift cards are also popular with South African gamers:
- Razer Gold — works across 42,000+ games and entertainment platforms, popular for mobile gaming titles like PUBG Mobile and Genshin Impact
- Apex Legends Coins — direct in-game currency for one of the most popular free-to-play battle royale games
- Minecraft — the world's best-selling game, always a safe gift choice for gamers of any age
How to Choose the Right Gift Card
Not sure which one to get? Here's a quick decision guide:
- What platform do they play on? PlayStation cards only work on PlayStation, Xbox cards on Xbox/PC, Steam on PC, Nintendo on Switch.
- Do they play a specific game? Roblox players want Robux, not Steam funds. Apex Legends players want Apex Coins.
- What's your budget? All our gift cards come in multiple denominations, starting from around R100 for smaller amounts up to R1,500+ for larger ones.
- Is it a gift? At checkout, you can mark any order as a gift and we'll deliver the code directly to the recipient with a personalised themed email and message.
